Japan’s Yanmar Group has become the debutant client at ORIGINS by Mahindra World City, North Chennai. The Mahindra Industrial Park Chennai Ltd [MIPCL] is a joint venture by between Mahindra World City Developers and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan.
The Yanmar Group a more than 100-year-old Japanese business firm plans to set up a diesel engine manufacturing facility in ORIGINS, North Chennai in order to provide original equipment manufacturers [OEM] in the Indian construction and agriculture sectors.
The Mahindra Lifespace Developers is expecting this facility to be operational by 2020 by releasing a press statement.
Hajime Hirai, Director and General Manager, Yanmar Engine Manufacturing India said that India is a big market for us and our first facility here is a concept to bring modern infrastructure, strategic connectivity and supporting social amenities together.
The ORIGINS by Mahindra World City have multiple industrial clusters spread over 250-600 acres situated in high growth corridors allover India. It is located on NH16, Phase 1 of ORIGINS by Mahindra World City, North Chennai covering264-acres and is at development stages.
Chennai has become the favourite destination for investors as earlier in 2018 the Mapletree Investments acquired the securities of Faery Estates from SPREP that owns a 2.7-million-sq-ft IT office development space in the same city.
