Uber, an American multinational transportation network company is likely to secure a deal of approximately 700,000 sq. ft. office space in Bengaluru. The company plans to acquire the space for setting up its biggest hub in India, the sources close to the development said.
The source informed that this expansion will prove beneficial to the company for setting up its product and engineering centre along with the map department in the capital city of Karnataka to offer customize solutions in the domestic market.
Uber India Systems is planned to make a site visit soon to inspect the area and is most likely to seal the deal in 2-3 months the sources said.
In 2016, the company set up its engineering centre to support its operation in the country. Also, in the past two years, this American firm has acquired nearly 300,000 sq. ft. office space on the Outer Ring Road in the Bengaluru city.
The company has said that they are expanding in India at a fast speed and are hopeful to go up by 50% till the year-end. The firm has a workforce of more than 500 people in their two tech centres that are located in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
After paving its way in the transport sector in India, Uber is currently focused to expand their food delivery business i.e UberEats. This includes corporate, rental businesses and bike rentals.
