The ITC group will focus majorly on the hotel properties as a strategic decision to expand its hospitality business. A Kolkata-based firm is reworking to manage its properties. The company is next planning to establish its second overseas hotel in Nepal via its subsidiary Surya Nepal.
Sanjiv Puri, Chairman, ITC said that presently, the company owns and manage properties in the ratio of 50:50 but is planning to make it happen in the ratio of 60:40.
At present, the company has 108 hotels under its brands like ITC Hotels, Welcome Hotels, Welcome Heritage and Fortune. The ITC Hotels brand falls under the super luxury category is expected to be owned and managed by the company.
Nakul Anand, director, ITC said that director Nakul Anand, said that we are signing in for 13-14 properties for management contract and between 26 to 28 properties are in the pipeline. He also said that the company has 10,000 rooms in the hotel business and is now focusing on the hotel business while ascertaining the current trend.
Sanjiv Puri, elaborated the future plans and said that Colombo project in Sri Lanka is added to the plan for international hospitality business plan expansion.
