West Bengal Govt allocates 150 acres land to set up Electronic Parks in City

The West Bengal Government has recently given its nod to set electronic parks across three different locations in the city. The approval has been recently given in a meeting by the Department of Information Technology and Electronic (IT&E), West Bengal. A total of 150 acres of area has been allotted for 3 electronics parks that will be used to set up offices like robotics, mobile phones, drone manufacturing units, and solar panels.

The department has allotted space across three different locations namely- Naihati, Falta and Sonarpur.

Giving more information on the same, a senior official from the department said, “The department has decided to include all the mandatory infrastructural facilities in these electronic parks such as well-developed concrete roads inside the campus, 24-hours water supply, parking facilities, security arrangements as well as dedicated walkways.”

Sources also said that recently, West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Limited (WEBEL) senior officials also visited and investigated the 70-acre Naihati electronic park to take a look at the infrastructural facilities present on the site. They also disclosed that corporation has decided that the land on which the park will be developed, it will remain on leasehold for 99 years. They will renew the deal later. The corporation has also started inviting applications from prospective investors in order to promote investment in the park. The land price has been fixed at Rs 43 lakh per acre.

WEBEL has already prepared land allotment map of all the three electronic parks.

The other two parks at Falta and Sonarpur will be spread over 70 acres and 10.7 acres of area respectively. Correspondingly, the price for both the parks has been fixed at Rs 44.8 lakh per acre and Rs 2.5 lakh per acres.
