How DDA is sitting on prime land worth Rs 1 lakh crore in Delhi :

At a time when owing land in Delhi’s prime localities is increasingly getting beyond the affordability limits of individuals, Delhi development Authority has revealed that it is sitting on land in prime localities which is worth well over Rs 1 lakh crore.

As part of its report, DDA has revealed that it has 5,484 acres of undeveloped land, under its authority and most importantly, this includes thousands of square metres of land situated in prime locations such as Vasant Kunj and Defence Colony.

And it is quite surprising that DDA had little idea about the authority owing this kind of expansive and expensive land in prime localities of Delhi, till the time results of an internal survey came out, just about 10 days back.

The results of this survey, have for the first time, given DDA a transparent overview of the Authority’s realty assets inside Delhi. The details of this survey have also been uploaded on the DDA’s website.

As part of this activity, DDA has also given details about encroachment happening in huge parts of land in East and Northern parts of Delhi. According to DDA, the overall area under litigation is around 300 acres of land.

All this information is quite significant as it was never made public like this before. is significant for various reasons and also shows that DDA is now more than willing to let public share this level of information.
