The Noida Metro Aqua line is planned to have an extension from Sector 71, Noida to Knowledge Park 5. The sources close to the development said that the extension project is estimated to be carried out in two phases.
The extension of Noida metro aqua line will be a major relaxation to approximately 3 lakh commuters traveling between Noida and Greater Noida. NMRC i.e the Noida Metro Rail Corporation has commenced working on this extension in two phases including Sector 51 Noida to Sector 2 in Greater Noida and from Sector 2 to Knowledge Park 5.
Presently, the Noida aqua line metro is 29.7 km-long and ply between Sector 51 to Greater Noida Depot.
This expansion will connect Greater Noida West in the coming times. The metro will initially start from Sector 71 to Knowledge Park 5, secondly from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden, and then from Depot Station to Bodaki.
The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government is likely to offer its consent for the construction of first phase of aqua line either in November end or the first week of December. In August, a 300-metre walkway to connect interchanging metro stations of the Blue Line and Aqua Lines, has been inaugurated and become operational.
DS Mishra, Secretary, Housing and Urban Affairs inaugurated Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) Blue Line, inaugurated the walkway, built between Sector 51 metro station on the Aqua Line and the Sector 52 metro station on the blue line recently.
