Cloverleaf Interchange to connect Yamuna Expressway with Eastern Peripheral Expressway: YEIDA

News

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), in a recent development approved plan to develop a Cloverleaf Interchange between Yamuna Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). This interchange will smoothen connectivity in between the major NCR cities like Moradabad, Meerut, Palwal-Manesar, Faridabad, Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida.

According to YEIDA, the authority has already issued tender for the development of the above project in May 2019 and the result to this will be announced in August 2019. As per the plan, the authority will construct a cloverleaf interchange on the sprawling Yamuna Expressway so as to connect it with the 135 km long, six-lane EPE that passes through Kundli, Ghaziabad, and Palwal.

Elaborating on the above, a senior official from the YEIDA said, “Once operational, the interchange will ease traffic movement in Noida, Greater Noida who wants to reach other cities via EPE. Also, it will reduce the travel time of the daily commuters who are travelling from Faridabad, Sonepat, Palwal, and Panipat.”

They further informed that the interchange will have 4-lane loops and eight ramps. It will have separate entry and exit points. The loops will help commuters in connecting to EPE, while the ramps will lead travelers to Yamuna Expressway and Yamuna City.

The cloverleaf interchange will be developed on 5.71 hectares of area and the expected delivery time will be 18 months. The design has already been prepared by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and has been sent to Delhi-IIT for further approval. Once the approval will be granted, construction work on the interchange will start. The overall expenditure on the project will be funded by NHAI.
