In a recent development, the Noida Greater Noida Authority has decided to commence the redevelopment of 24.53 km long Noida-Greater Noida Expressway soon. This redevelopment has been stuck for a long time due to General Elections. The redevelopment will take place on the bituminous technology which is used in the construction of roads and highways by the NHAI.
As per the authority redevelopment plan, a total of 4 underpasses will be developed on the expressway. This will enhance connectivity between the Noida and Greater Noida area and will be helpful for working professionals who are commuting on a daily basis to the companies located on Noida Greater Noida Expressway.
Elaborating more on the plan, a senior official from the state authority said, “We have decided to develop 4 underpasses on the expressway to smoothen the connectivity in the nearby areas. These underpasses will be of 2.36 km, 19.40 km, 10.40 km, and 16.50 km long. All these underpasses will be built on pushing box technology. The estimated cost of the first underpass will be 97.67crore while the rest will be 135 crores.”
The redeveloped Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be ready for public use by 2020.
The senior officials also informed that the redevelopment will not only boost the connectivity in the twin cities followed by Yamuna expressway but will also increase ridership on the Aqua Line.
At present, the Aqua Line is connecting Noida Sector- 51 to Knowledge Park in Greater Noida, but the ridership is still on the lower side due to hassles faced by commuters on connectivity part. Once the project will complete, it will help the nearby professionals easily to take on this line to move to and fro between Noida and Greater Noida as well as the National Capital too.
