After a delay of almost three years, the Noida Authority has finally started work on the proposed Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway underpass near Bahlolpur village in Noida Phase-3. The 42-meter long underpass will end traffic congestion and provide a signal-free movement from Transport Nagar, Sector-69 to other sectors between sector- 63 and 69 and nearby villages of Chijarsi and Bahlolpur.
Elaborating on the underpass project, Noida Authority, General Manager, Rajiv Tyagi said, “We have already completed the tender process, as well as the construction work, has also started. The cost of the project is Rs 30.29 crore”
He further said that the underpass will be located at a major box channel of Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad road. Hence, it will have four clover leaves to ensure signal-free commute at the intersection. It will also help commuters from Mamura Sector-66 as well as hundreds of workers commuting to the industrial sectors of Noida.
Pradeep Garg, Senior Manager of Work Circle 4, Noida Authority, who is also associated with the project informed, “The authority is aiming to complete the project within 1 year of time as compared to the allotted time of one and half years. However, the tenders have been issued for 18 months.”
In order to ease congestion, the FNG expressway underpass was proposed in the year 2016. But due to some technical and financial reasons, the project got stalled for many years. The Authority is now seriously taking up the project so as to make it operation by year-end.
