Leading Real Estate Developer Brigade Group recently signed an MoU with Technopark, an autonomous organisation fully owned by the Kerala government to construct World Trade Center (WTC) at Technocity IT Park in Thiruvananthapuram. The WTC will be spread across 13 acres of area and will be home to some of the popular IT companies like Nissan and TCS.
Speaking during the occasion, M R Jaishankar, Brigade group Chairman and Managing Director said, “WTC Thiruvananthapuram will change the socio-economic scenario of the city. It promises to change the way office spaces are viewed by providing an international environment to global and Indian IT and ITes companies, giving their businesses a real boost.”
As per the information revealed, the campus will be covering an area of 2.5 million sqft and will provide employment to 15 thousand professionals. It will be a mixed-land use development with multiple modern and contemporary facilities like hotels, serviced apartments, retail and entertainment centres, hostels for working professionals apart from office spaces.
Jaishankar further said that WTC will house leading sectors IT/ITes companies, agriculture, fisheries, healthcare, and biotechnology.
The Brigade group has acquired a license to develop WTC in cities of Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad. While WTC Bengaluru and Kochi are currently in operation mode, WTC Chennai will start its operation by the end of the year.
Talking about Technopark, it was established in 1990 by the state government and houses 400 multinational and IT companies.
