With RERA all set to complete its first year on May 1, Maharashtra has emerged as the winner state in terms of maximum number of projects registered under Real Estate Regulation Act (RERA) across the country. As many as 16,125 projects have been registered of the total 25,000 recorded under RERA.
According to a latest report published by a real estate consultancy, Maharashtra has emerged as the only exception where the regulator’s proactive functioning has set new examples.
Speaking more on this, MahaRERA Secretary Vasant Prabhu said, “We are leading in registration in the country as well as for the implementation of a speedy redressal system with benches both in Mumbai and Pune. We are now trying to get more features. We will also get stricter in the coming year by reaching out to the rural areas of Marathwada and Vidarbha. We will approach the local authorities and take action against the unregistered projects.”
He further said that in recent times, people have shown more enthusiasm among property buying in various cities of Maharashtra due to RERA. They are few areas left where we have to work upon.
As per few realty experts, the state has definitely taken a leadership role in terms of registration and implementation of the rules.
To mark the occasion of RERA completion in the state, GIS (Geographical Information System) platform will be launched on the website of MahaRERA so that one can start searching for the property instantaneously. Now anyone who plans to invest in real estate can get the exact location of RERA registered projects on the website. It will also help home buyers in scanning nearby amenities around the project like schools, transportation facilities, and hospitals.
